Green Leaves Early Learning has announced that they will be boosting one of the elements of their employee benefits package their ‘Work Perks’. From 4 April 2022, Centre Team Members will now receive an amazing 75 per cent gap fee discount, but pay no more than $11 per day* per child.

“We acknowledge that many of our team members are parents who have chosen to share their passion and knowledge with us as professionals, while also entrusting their children into the care of Green Leaves.

“We also know that we’re all experiencing inflationary pressures on the family budget. It’s rewarding to be able to support our educators with young families,” said Chief Executive Officer, Mark McDonald-Smith.

The recent changes to the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) legislation enables childcare operators to offer a discount off the gap fees for its Educators with children enrolled at their services. Green Leaves are proud to be able to offer this significant discount to their team members, while many other larger early education and care providers are shying away from such generous commitments.

The changes to the CCS legislation is jointly welcomed by Kirsten Berry, Green Leaves Early Learning’s National Operations Manager. With over 30 years working in the sector, Ms Berry recognises that this measure will support all providers to attract and retain their workforce.

“This is a great outcome for our sector, which we hope will encourage more interest in the early education and care profession and provide reassurance for educators to return to work after parental leave, therefore supporting those with young children. In the long run, the increase in the availability of employees in the sector will enable childcare to be more accessible to families,” says Ms Berry.

Green Leaves Team members have the added benefit of working in beautiful architecturally designed centres that are maintained to look, feel, and stay resourced, just like the day it opened.

Team members have access to professional development and training opportunities, mentor programs, career progression, reward and recognition programs, wellbeing programs, Employee Assistance Programs, and so much more.

“One thing that sets us apart is our culture. If you walk into any one of our centres on any given day, you’ll find that the team is celebrating each other. Recognition is not just reserved for once a year on Early Childhood Educators Day. Being respected, supported, and valued is very much ingrained in the Green Leaves culture”, says Mr McDonald-Smith.
