For the second year in a row, Green Leaves Early Learning is a proud sponsor of the Under 6’s Miniroos at the Albany Creek Excelsior Football Club in Brisbane. Fondly known by the locals as ACE. The Club started in 1963, and is now the largest, not-for-profit, volunteer-run sporting club in Brisbane.

Their junior program began at the time of founding, but the Club experienced a record growth of 63 junior teams in 2007 as more families moved into the area. By 2018, the Club was home to 93 teams ranging from Under 6’s to over 45’s, as well as a very successful Kindy soccer program for ages 3 to 5 years. ACE is currently one of the largest junior football clubs in Brisbane with approximately 3,000 members and 1,000 registered players.

The Club is proud of its reputation as a family and community-based club with an emphasis on providing high-quality programs for social players of all ages and skills. ACE also offers genuine pathways for professional player development. Their junior and senior teams play in Football Brisbane’s highest-grade competitions, competing with 73 registered clubs from across Southeast Queensland. Overall, for this season, the Club is currently finishing in third position in the Football Queensland Premier League.

ACE has two home grounds. One field is at Wolder Park in Albany Creek which is a stone’s throw from Green Leaves Albany Creek and Green Leaves Warner Lakes. Their second home ground is located at South Pine Sports Complex in Brendale, which is a neighbouring suburb of both Green Leaves centres.

In the coming months, the team from ACE will be visiting Green Leaves to run a soccer workshop. We’re looking forward to it!
