Welcome to ‘Are we listening? Encourgaing every child’s voice through the Arts’

Join our Wellbeing Expert, Trina Luckett, and Pedagogy Expert, D’Lene Johnson as they explore how the Arts can become a powerful language for listening to children. Together, we’ll:

  • Reflect on children’s rights, the legislative focus on the paramountcy of the child and practical ways to create environments where every child’s voice is heard and valued
  • Experience authentic examples of child-centred practice in action through our ‘Through the Eyes of the Child’ project
  • Hands-on: explore Creative Collection provocations, create art to take home, connect with fellow Educators, and experience the Green Leaves approach to listening and learning

Trina’s journey in early childhood education began more than 30 years ago with a deep belief that every child deserves to be heard, valued, and understood.

Throughout her career, Trina has witnessed the powerful connection between children’s voices, the Arts, and wellbeing, inspiring her commitment to supporting Educators to create environments where listening is intentional, children’s rights are honoured, and every child has opportunities to express their ideas, perspectives, and identity.

With more than 30 years of experience in early childhood education, D’Lene is a passionate Educator, leader, mentor, and consultant dedicated to inspiring excellence in teaching and learning.

Valuing collaboration and believing that sharing knowledge, strengthening pedagogy, and working alongside Educators and children is key to building confident teams and high-quality educational practice, D’Lene is committed to supporting Centres to create rich, inclusive, and engaging learning environments where Educators flourish and every child has the opportunity to thrive.
