Our early learning environments
Every Green Leaves Early Learning Centre has been intentionally designed to create safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environments that support the unique needs, interests, and capabilities of children at different ages and stages of their growth and development.
Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF v2.0) and the National Quality Standard (NQS), every aspect of our learning and play environments—including the layout, furniture, educational resources, and learning spaces—has been thoughtfully planned to promote children’s wellbeing, learning, independence, agency, and sense of belonging.

Explore our inspiring learning environments
Nursery environments
Our nursery environments provide warm, nurturing spaces that prioritise safety, comfort, and secure relationships. Soft furnishings, age-appropriate equipment, low-level mirrors, sensory resources, natural materials, and calm spaces support babies and infants developing physical skills, sensory exploration, and emotional wellbeing.
Our furniture is carefully arranged to encourage tummy time, crawling, early mobility, and meaningful interactions with Educators while creating safe pathways for exploration and responsive enriched caregiving.
Toddler environments
Our toddler environments foster growing independence, curiosity, and confidence. Child-sized furniture, accessible storage, open-ended resources, and flexible learning areas empower children to make choices, develop self-help skills, and participate in active, collaborative play. Resources are intentionally selected to support emerging language, creativity, problem-solving, social development, and physical coordination while allowing Educators to adapt the environment in response to children’s evolving interests, growth and developmental needs.
Kindergarten environments
Our kindergarten environments encourage enquiry, creativity, collaboration, and school readiness. Learning spaces incorporate a balance of structured and open-ended experiences, including literacy and numeracy areas, construction zones, dramatic play spaces, creative arts, science, and enquiry-based learning opportunities. Our furniture is arranged to support both independent learning and collaborative experiences, while resources provide appropriate challenge and encourage children to investigate, communicate, imagine, and extend their thinking.
Outdoor environments
Our outdoor environments provide opportunities for physical development, managed risk-taking, sensory exploration, nature play, and environmental stewardship. Natural elements, gardens, loose parts, climbing equipment, and open-ended resources encourage resilience, confidence, creativity, and meaningful connections with the natural world while supporting children’s varying developmental stages.
The importance of learning environments
Recognising the environment as the ‘third teacher,’ our learning spaces are continually evaluated and adapted through ongoing observation, critical reflection, and collaboration with children, families, Teachers, and Educators. Resources are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain inclusive, culturally responsive, accessible, and reflective of children’s interests and learning needs. Through this intentional approach, our environments foster a play-based learning approach, encourage meaningful engagement, and support positive outcomes across all five EYLF Learning Outcomes while meeting the expectations of NQS Quality Area 3 by providing safe, stimulating, inclusive, and purposeful environments where every child can thrive.
