Green Leaves Early Learning Richmond Named Most Outstanding Early Childhood Centre in the Yarra District
Green Leaves Early Learning Richmond was recently awarded the Most Outstanding Early Childcare Centre in the Yarra district at the Local Eastern Business Award. The centre was selected as the winner of the Early Childhood Category out of seven other early learning centres in East Melbourne.
The awards celebrate the achievements of businesses in the local community, from early childhood centres to performing arts, restaurants, retail services and more. Winning the award for early childhood centres reflects Green Leaves Richmond’s dedication to providing exceptional care and education for children, from nursery age through to Kinder.
Driven by community engagement, the nominations for Green Leaves Richmond as a finalist were based on the number of entries received from families, online reviews and feedback. Mystery shoppers were also engaged by the awards organiser to experience the Green Leaves difference firsthand.
Centre Director, Paras and Operations Support Manager, Ebonie represented the Green Leaves Richmond team at the awards ceremony.
‘We’re grateful to the Richmond community for their support, and we’re so honoured to be a part of our families and their children’s learning journey.
‘We’ll continue to build on this achievement through fostering a nurturing and enriching learning environment that’s child focused.
‘Our team of Educators truly love what they do, and we’re so grateful to be chosen as part of our community’s extended village,’ said Paras.
With twelve sister centres throughout Victoria, each with its own unique characteristics, Green Leaves Richmond features a beautiful, exposed brick family lounge, as well as bright and inviting learning hubs equipped with engaging educational resources that inspire curiosity, wonder, and a love of learning.
The Centre also features a mezzanine area, where the children have a birds-eye view of Richmond’s quintessential tram and train lines, as well as the neighbourhood. An adaptable space, the open area accommodates a variety of activities and provides children with the freedom to explore and move, or seek a quiet moment on the bench seat under the trellis or amongst the edible garden.
The children enjoy incursions such as yoga and sports programs, as well as Chef-led culinary experiences, as part of their learning journey. In acknowledgement of Richmond’s diversity, a multicultural program is interwoven into the Centre’s learning experiences. During group time, the children enjoy songs and stories in French and Tagalog, led by their Educators. It’s not unusual for families and members of the community to host cultural activities with the children, such as story time and culinary experiences.
Paras and her team of Educators take great pride in building and nurturing relationships with their families and community. The Centre is actively involved in the local area through the children’s weekly community walks and supporting local family-centered charities such as Our Village.
