Supporting North Queensland’s Sporting Rebels

At Green Leaves, we’re big supporters of community sports and we’re thrilled to sponsor Townsville’s most famous sporting rebels, the “Gunners”. Officially known as the Rebels Football Club, this well-established Club in North Queensland celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.

The Club is committed to providing development opportunities for young players. As such, Rebels FC is home to over 45 junior teams (Rebels FC Junior Gunners), ranging from under 6’s to under 16’s.

The junior games are played at Brolga Park at the Murray Sporting Complex, which is local to a few of our Green Leaves centres; Hyde Park, Belgian Gardens, Kirwan and North Shore.

Recently the Club celebrated Female Football Week to honour their female players, coaches, managers and volunteers. Festivities include friendly matches between the Club’s amazing female teams with mothers, aunts, sisters and grandmothers.

We look forward to inviting the children at Green Leaves to be involved in some skills sessions and workshops at our centres across Townsville.
